Date Oat Bars

I coached all weekend and was looking at the girls lunches and seeing what they were eating to fuel themselves. Some had bought protein bars and loads had rice cakes. So I thought I’d make some bars that would be good to keep you fueled for long training days 💪🏻😀

Date Oat bars Ingredients📍

  • 2 cups oats

  • 250grams of dates

  • 2 tbsp of chia seeds

  • 2 tsp of baking soda

  • 2 tbsp of agave nectar

  • 2 cups of water

Recipe📍

  • Preheat oven to gas mark 4 and line a baking tin with parchment paper

  • Chop dates and add to pot with water and simmer until mixture thickens and dates become soft about 15 mins

  • Add baking soda ( it will bubble- that’s okay😂)

  • Add oats, chia seeds and agave syrup and mix and stir

  • Place mixture in tin and cook for about 35 minutes

  • Cut bars and allow to cool

  • Drizzle 85* choc over and decorate with whatever nuts you have! I chose almonds and walnuts 🌰
